Young Deok

Young Deok makes 3D sculptures out of bicycle chains, aka link chains. At first i didnt know that this was bicycle chains but thats what intrigued me the most. He wraps around and weaves link chains into a figure or face of somesort. From far away it looks like its silver painted but up close you can see the chains and it gives the piece a little bit of texture and pattern with out distracting you from the piece itself. The faces he makes are huge sculptures that take up the room and his body sluptures tend to be from the neck down or covers the face in some way. But he does still created sculptures with the face and body both seen. He tends to make artwork very similar to each other and called the same name for example if you do a general search of his poece Nirvana you get Nirvana #1 and Nirvana #2 etc, but each piece is different.
