Kinetic sculpture is a sculpture that has a basic element of movement through out. The sculpture contains movement that is captured by the viewer where they will feel it has some sort of movement flow.
Artists use sturdy materials like plastic, metal, wood, wire, pottery, thick fabric, nylon and burlap. It all depends on what they are making and where the piece will live when your done making it. If its outdoors, artist will use materials that are thick, sturdy and waterproof. If its indoors, they might use a more flexible type of material and not worry too much if its water proof or not.
