3D Artist Gina Michaels

Gina Michaels uses casting sand to shape her artwork and then covers it in a layer of molted bronze. Her sculptural artwork tends to involve the mix and combination of hands or feet with nature. "My sculpture fuses the forms and gestures of humans and the botanical world, embodying the living energy we share. A hand is a leaf, or the earth itself. Fingers are petals that invite close inspection, but might poke the viewer in the eye. " This quote was from her artist statement on http://inliquid.org/complete-artist-list/michaels-gina/
I really enjoyed her work just for the unique quality with the ideas and how her imagination created artwork that has you just stop and think about it for a minute. She used great colors and contrasted them well with each other especially the colors ontop of the bronze layer. One of my favorite pieces was Ken and Doug and how the hands are layered on top  of each other reaching out in different directions. But at the same time blend together because of the blue turquoise color layered on top. Also the texture/pattern that was created in layering was something that made this piece especially eye catching.

I have had trouble uploading pictures, but all  of her work is on the website above and i will have linked below. She also has print making artwork that i also enjoyed because of the nature base prints that were made.
